When you visit Dynamic Health and Wellness for a physical, you sit down with Wendy Clow to review your health history. She asks about any illnesses or injuries you’ve had, medications you currently take, and what medical conditions run in your family. Then, she performs a general physical examination that includes measuring your weight, blood pressure, and heart rate. She also listens to your heart and lungs as well as checking your ears, nose, and throat for any abnormalities.
School and sports physicals tend to focus more on the patient’s posture, joins, and overly physical development. Many medical providers measure your progress against generic benchmarks. However, Wendy measures her patients’ health against their own unique health history, ensuring a fully personalized experience.
If you’re visiting Dynamic Health and Wellness for a DOT physical in Leesburg, your appointment may include several additional tests. While you don’t need to have perfect 20/20 vision to get your DOT medical certification, you do need to meet a certain minimum in both eyes. Likewise, we’ll check that you can hear a “forced whisper” from 5 feet away, with or without your hearing aids. We’ll also perform a urine analysis to screen for any underlying conditions, like diabetes.
Once we’ve completed your physical and gathered all the information we need, we’ll fill out your necessary paperwork. For a school or sports physical, we’ll give you a form to take to the school’s administration or sports coach. For a DOT physical, your paperwork will show that you passed your exam and can safely drive on the road.
